I Served You Well

Ode to Old Van Vleck High 2020   I Served You Well Many students have graced my halls, giving priceless memories to my walls. Classes were taught to help you grow, I watched you learn things, you did not know. Laughter and spirit-filled my inner core, of students, teachers, and many more. My intercom brought you announcements, music, and prayer, the principals were always listening there. Through the years my structure was changed, making way for additions, but my spirit remained. Although being demolished, I did not fail. I live in your Memories, I served you well      ...

Our Endless Love

Our Endless Love

Our Endless Love  My heart beats strong, although shattered and broken,  my love for you will forever be spoken. Our love for each other was a gift from above, God planned our hearts to share endless love. Living without you brings so much emotion, although you surround me with your love and devotion. Heaven awaits me, where we will meet again, to share an eternal love that will never end. My eyes are dry, and I must not weep. I am strong, but I am weak....

Water To Wine

Water To Wine

Water to Wine Love is like a new empty glass, ready for each person to add loving waters. The water can spill without breaking the glass,  it is quality, not quantity, remember what matters Openly pour your water into that glass, the transparency makes love last. With love and affection, the glass will fill over time, then devotion and commitment   turns the water into wine.

I Love You

I Love You

I Love You Although you think that I don’t see, hiding and peeking, you look at me. With deep beautiful dimples, you smile, warming my heart, all the while. Big, round, and blue as the clear skies, I see your sweet soul in your eyes. When you laugh, you fill the room with joy, Thanking God for making such a sweet boy. Handsome and shy, you will go far, one day becoming a shining star. God gave you talents of your very own, wondering what you will be when grown, From Heaven above, God protects and loves you, and here on earth, I love you...

The Rainbow

The Rainbow

The Rainbow As the rain subsides and colors fill the sky, I tell my darkness goodbye Once a silhouette in a world lost of color, now walking unwavering without umbrella cover. The wonderment of the future yet to unfold, warms my heart removing the cold. With each step, I begin to smile, knowing life is beautiful for a little while.

God Knows

God Knows

God Knows When questioning, He understands. If hearts break, God mends. When feet dance, He rejoices. If we sing, God praises. When eyes cry, He holds. If sickness overpowers, God heals. When grief comes, He comforts. If we pray, He listens. When sins confessed, God forgives. If troubles overwhelm, God solves. When we are patient, He answers. If we forgive others, God smiles. When all fails, He prevails. With faith and belief, God protects.

What If?

What If?

What If?   What if a new Virus came to town, having no vaccine around? What if it threatened all humankind, making essentials hard to find? What if people had to stay at home,  not allowed to roam? What if children were out of school, with parents becoming the new teaching tool? What if families flourished, having a love for each other nourished? What if unselfishness and kindness for others grew, making love for all humanity new? What if all people joined in prayer, asking God for a cure and lives to spare? What if we thanked God in advance, showing true faith, not...

Seed of Love

Seed of Love Darkness does surround, Waiting in the ground, Moisture touches me, Waking me to flee, Outer shell has burst,  Increasing my thirst, Breaking thru the earth, Today is my rebirth Sunlight on my face, Feeling God’s amazing grace Stand firm and straight, Budding flowers await, Flowers soon to bloom, Removing human gloom, Once a lifeless seed, Sharing love in times of need.                                                                                                      By...

Life Is Brief

Life Is Brief

Budding and growing in early Spring, shaping, then becoming colors of green. Rustling and holding tight, cooling, then shading in the sunlight. Changing and turning brown in the Fall, floating, then bouncing like a ball. Rolling and sailing in the wind, rising, then gliding once again. Twirling and dancing in the air, landing, then resting somewhere. Understanding and loving being a leaf, Accepting, then knowing life is brief.   March 14, 2020 Lou                          ...

When He Visits

When He Visits   Writing then feeling, you touch my hair. Pausing and knowing, I have time to spare. Remembering then picturing, your dimples and smile. Wanting and praying, you can stay for a while.  Touching then comforting, you bring me your love. Thanking and loving, God sent you from above. Lingering then leaving, to Heaven you, must go. Understanding and saying, I love you so.  Smiling then typing, you have empowered me. Finishing then reading, a book our story will be.   Lou March 4, 2020        ...

Your Are Special

Your Are Special

You Are Special You are a special young man to me, and came into my life when you were less than three. Big brown eyes, brown hair with a magnificent smile, you melted my heart in a very short while. Soon by God’s loving plan and grace, You became my Great Grandson bringing an even bigger smile to my face. Remember the ice bucket challenge that we decided to do? That bucket of ice water was nearly as big as you, but that didn’t stop you from dumping that water, and I still remember your amazing laughter, Together we have played in my backyard, and I watched you swim in my...

I Lost Me

I Lost Me

I Lost Me I lost a deep desire, with a brightly burning fire. I lost the will to be,  the truth inside of me. I lost a yearning to be much more, but then faith led me to a new door. Opening the door to a beautiful sight, finding me in the glowing light. I lost me, but now I can see, I was not lost; God was holding me.  He gently put my feet on the ground, but surprise-filled me once turning around. Glowing embers burned brightly at my feet below. God placed on new logs then gave them a blow. The logs began to flame as a new fire grew, but beyond the flames, there was something new. A path...

Those Big Eyes

Those Big Eyes   Those big eyes, they sparkle and dance, searching the room with just a glance. Eyes with long lashes slowly blinking, make you wonder what is he thinking. Big eyes that are innocent and sincere, Projecting peace to all who are near. Those big eyes trying to fight off sleep, fill hearts of eyes watching with love so deep. Big eyes filled with sweet love, assuring all they come from above. These big eyes of an angel unaware Come from God, so beautiful and rare....

I Love You, Nancy

I Love You, Nancy Nancy, In my bunk at night, I lay, just counting the hours in a day. For soon it will be all over, then nothing but blue skies and green clover. All the long lonely nights of the past will end when we are together at last. I think of you and how your beautiful eyes shine when I look at you and lay it all on the line. My love is for only you, and it’s nice. I wouldn’t change that love for any price. Our love is so wonderful and fulfilling, and will always be, God willing. He has given us something that is beyond compare. He has given us something that only we...

Bouncing Golden Curls

Bouncing Golden Curls Bouncing golden curls running through the grass, Singing, dancing, spinning, having just a touch of sass. Bouncing golden curls looking to the sky, Stopping, smiling, pointing, saying Angels are flying by. Bouncing golden curls kneeling on one knee, Smelling, touching, picking, giving wildflowers to you and me. Bouncing golden curls although only three, Living, loving, caring, showing God’s love for all to see. Lou January 24,...
