Clara Grace

Clara Grace

Clara Grace Her name is Clara Grace. She was born with a heart in her chest and one on her face. The Angels knew two hearts are better than one. So, they kissed her cheek after God was done. Her eyes are blue with a twinkling light. You know immediately she is a pure delight. Her smile lights up any room, when she enters she removes all gloom. She has dancing feet, and her moves are beautiful and sweet. She loves to draw pretty flowers and rainbows. She is only three, but oh how her artistry shows. She loves baby dolls, and her favorite color is pink. She likes dishes, pans and a play...

I Sit & Play

I Sit & Play

I Sit & Play I sit down at the piano then begin to play, for how long I do not know. Trying to be brave while playing each key, and praying my shaking does not show. The music drowns out the sounds of war outside the door, keeping it from reaching my ears. Somehow, each musical note reaches my heart and soul making me braver removing my fears. As soldiers enter the room, I close my eyes letting my fingers float across the keys while I continue playing. Praying, maybe, just maybe, the music will touch their hearts halting the unecessary slaying. Lou Views:...

The Windchime Lady

The Windchime Lady

Windchimes of all sizes and shapes hang around her porch waiting for a gentle breeze. Chimes made of chrome, brass, bamboo, wood, and glass swing sweetly while chiming with ease. Walking by,  I see a woman sitting in a rocking chair listening to the magical music play. Known only to me as The Windchime Lady, I see her while walking to school  each day. For now, I have only paused,  listened, and smiled, so many times. Some day, I will stop, ask her name, and all about her beautiful windchimes.                       Views:...

The Spider Web

The Spider Web

Working diligently and tirelessly, the spider wove an intricate web. Back and forth with careful precision, each strand crossed or bridged another. The beauty of the web would not be totally visible to humans as they passed, but then it snowed. Magically, as each tiny strand of the web became covered with snow details of the the intricate pattern was revealed. Between two strands of barbed wire, the snow covered web looked to be crocheted by the spider. Views: 47

The Ballerina

The Ballerina

With delicate movements, she waltzes across the floor, lost in another new world with a closed door. Once upon a time, she knew many, many other things, But now she slowly dances as her arms gracefully swing. When you say hello, her smile touches your heart, Then a peacefulness surrounds you and you wish her never to part. I’ve been told that at one time she was brilliant with numbers, but now those digits are forgotten by her and put into slumbers. She is a ballerina lost in a world of her own, where she will remain until reaching God’s  home.          ...

Visions & Smells

Visions & Smells Looking through photo albums, I focused on a picture from the past. This photograph was of an old two-story apartment building, which was our first home. Shutting my eyes, the memories in my mind began to flow fast. While going deep into my memories, I saw myself walking alone. A mixture of aromas from past foods cooked filled the air. A smell not memorable for just one cuisine, but a pleasant blend of them all. Suddenly, I smelled your aftershave then pictured you sitting in your favorite chair. Entering the bedroom, I saw the curtains blowing then smelled the fresh air...

Always There

I am feeling overwhelmed, and then you touched my hair, reminding me, you are always there. You are living in Heaven, now far away, sending loving touches to me today. I am thanking God for the gift of you, giving me a sweet love so true. I am reminded of the life we shared, remembering how much adventure we dared. I am writing this poem to remind me each day, receiving love from you is never far away.       Views: 153

I Miss You

I miss the man who held my hand as we walked together through this life. I miss your beautiful-dimpled cheeks with a smile that made my heart come alive. I miss you having faith in me to become anything without fear. I miss your physical body always being near. I miss the way you gently brushed my hair, while I sat on the floor in front of your chair. I miss you holding me close and drying my tears. I miss you saying, I love you softly in my ears. I miss you listening to me without interruptions, letting me come to my own conclusions I miss you allowing me to make mistakes without judgments,...

When Kitty Visits

When Kitty Visits You come to visit for just a little while,  and with each visit you make me smile. I do not know your name, but it does not matter. Your warmth and love make the Angels gather. As I rub your soft fur, you roll and purr at my feet. I am comforted by your affection which is beyond sweet. Soon you will prance across the grass to your home. I am truly blessed by your visit when you roam. Views: 114

I am lonely and miss home, but this I must do. I am a soldier among many in a foreign land. I am a child of God and He holds my hand.        By Lou 11/11/2020 Views: 77

Watching You

Running, leaping, dancing along the electric line, watching, praying you will be fine. Straddling, clinging, sleeping on the branch of a tree, wondering, questioning if you see me. Flipping, rushing, fleeing from a Mocking bird, laughing, knowing that you heard. Digging, covering, patting the ground, loving, seeing, as you look around. Jumping, straddling, holding on to the feeder, smiling, waiting for a wobble or teeter. Sitting, looking, observing the world,   praying, hoping if you are my squirrel Views:...

I Served You Well

Ode to Old Van Vleck High 2020   I Served You Well Many students have graced my halls, giving priceless memories to my walls. Classes were taught to help you grow, I watched you learn things, you did not know. Laughter and spirit-filled my inner core, of students, teachers, and many more. My intercom brought you announcements, music, and prayer, the principals were always listening there. Through the years my structure was changed, making way for additions, but my spirit remained. Although being demolished, I did not fail. I live in your Memories, I served you well      ...

Our Endless Love

Our Endless Love  My heart beats strong, although shattered and broken,  my love for you will forever be spoken. Our love for each other was a gift from above, God planned our hearts to share endless love. Living without you brings so much emotion, although you surround me with your love and devotion. Heaven awaits me, where we will meet again, to share an eternal love that will never end. My eyes are dry, and I must not weep. I am strong, but I am weak.   Views:...

Water to Wine Love begins as an empty glass, ready for each person to add loving water. The water may spill without breaking the glass,  it is quality, not quantity, remember what truly matters Openly pour your water into that glass, the transparency makes love last. With love and affection, the glass will fill over time, then devotion and commitment   turns the water into wine. Views: 130

Big, round, and blue as the clear skies, I see your sweet soul in your eyes. When you laugh, you fill the room with joy, Thanking God for making such a sweet boy. Handsome and shy, you will go far, one day becoming a shining star. What If?

What If?   What if a new Virus came to town, having no vaccine around? What if it threatened all humankind, making essentials hard to find? What if people had to stay at home,  not allowed to roam? What if children were out of school, with parents becoming the new teaching tool? What if families flourished, having a love for each other nourished? What if unselfishness and kindness for others grew, making love for all humanity new? What if all people joined in prayer, asking God for a cure and lives to spare? What if we thanked God in advance, showing true faith, not...

Soon by God’s loving plan and grace, You became my Great Grandson bringing an even bigger smile to my face. Remember the ice bucket challenge that we decided to do? God Knows

God Knows When questioning, He understands. If hearts break, God mends. When feet dance, He rejoices. If we sing, God praises. When eyes cry, He holds. If sickness overpowers, God heals. When grief comes, He comforts. If we pray, He listens. When sins confessed, God forgives. If troubles overwhelm, God solves. When we are patient, He answers. If we forgive others, God smiles. When all fails, He prevails. With faith and belief, God protects.     Views: 68

I Lost Me

I Lost Me I lost a deep desire, with a brightly burning fire. I lost the will to be,  the truth inside of me. I lost a yearning to be much more, but then faith led me to a new door. Opening the door to a beautiful sight, finding me in the glowing light. I lost me, but now I can see, I was not lost; God was holding me.  He gently put my feet on the ground but surprise-filled me once turning around. Glowing embers burned brightly at my feet below. God placed on new logs then gave them a blow. The logs began to flame as a new fire grew, but beyond the flames, there was something new. A path...

I Love You, Nancy Nancy, In my bunk at night, I lay, just counting the hours in a day. For soon it will be all over, then nothing but blue skies and green clover. All the long lonely nights of the past will end when we are together at last. I think of you and how your beautiful eyes shine when I look at you and lay it all on the line. My love is for only you, and it’s nice. I wouldn’t change that love for any price. Our love is so wonderful and fulfilling, and will always be, God willing.
