Vietnam Love Letters from the Heart
Frank came home on a two week R & R from Vietnam on July 1, 1971. He kept this as a total surprise for me and only let me know he was coming home after landing in California.
Frank called me late at night and asked me if I would like to come to pick him up at the Houston Airport in about six hours. Of course, I jumped in that Volkswagon Super Beetle of ours and sped to Houston.
Although we only had two weeks together, this was the greatest gift for both of us. We needed to see each other.
