The Cedar Chest

The Cedar Chest I am a unique cedar chest.  My purpose is to keep priceless treasures safe and secure. Although other woods may grace my outside, inside, cedarwood lines my walls, bottom, and lid.  Cedarwood is a natural preservative that protects by keeping out moths and other insects. In 1964, a young woman became my new owner. She refinished my exterior, changing the color to an antique blue, and I became her hope chest. My Name is Cedar Chest

Cedar Chest is the name given to me by my crafter, although there are many different names that I might have had. Some of the words people say when referring to me are Hope Chest, Dowry Chest, Trousseau Chest, Glory Box, or Bottom Drawer.  Thinking it depends on once crafted, where and who one ends up with as to what name given. What Is Happening?

Not sure why there is a new light, then repeated darkness that comes into this home. When it first gets light, there are a lot of sounds and movement going on in the house.  The boys seem to be the ones moving quickly and being the loudest. Other than laughing and singing my young woman is reasonably quiet. Daddy and Mom have to tell those boys to settle down all of the time.
