Humbled & Thankful

Today is Wednesday, May 8th, 2019. Fifty-one years ago on Wednesday on May 8th, 1968 a young man and a young woman stood at the front of the church confessing their love for each other and exchanging their marriage vowels in front of their families, friends, and God. That day in Van Vleck, Texas at the Methodist Church  Nancy Blakley and Frank Henderson became Mr. & Mrs. Loren Frank Henderson, Jr. As you all know, I am in the process of writing a Memoir of Frank and my love story.  Two books have been published and are available as autographed books to purchase on this website. Talented, Beautiful, Successful

I believe God put a lot of thought into creating each of us while making us all unique, special and different. Also, I think that He gave us all a special purpose that is designed just for us to fulfill while we are living in the flesh. It is easy to look around and want to be that somebody else who we might think is more talented, more beautiful, or more successful. I had the absolute privilege and God-given gift to get to teach a Sunday School class for two and...

Toilet Refurbish 101, DIY Widow

Yoga and Toilets One “thang” that I know for sure is, God did not invent the porcelain throne, man invented it.  How do I know this?  For one thang,  it is always sitting in a tight spot between a cabinet and a wall which makes it impossible to access the bolts to unloosen/tighten them or even clean the toilet. A woman would not have done this. If the toilet needs repair below are the steps I would suggest to you. 1. Pick up your deceased husband’s picture, look at it, and tell him how much you love him. 2. Ask God to make sure He supplies your...

A Message in a Letter

Frank’s next letter has a beautiful message and it is very special to me. In late January of 2015, I said a prayer asking God for a new purpose for me.  I was getting older and needed to have something to do for Him.  At that time had been a widow for eighteen years and retired for six years. That night Frank came to me in a dream and told me, “Nancy, look in the cedar chest”. For some reason, I immediately woke up.  Lying there in the darkness, I tried to figure out what Frank’s words had meant.  I have a cedar chest in my house but know everything that is inside...
