Audio Excerpt, Chapter 40, Broken Hearts from “Love and Marriage”

Audio Excerpt from Love & Marriage: The Love Story of Nancy & Frank. I thought it might be fun and exciting to try to and record a chapter of my first book with me as the reader. I randomly chose a chapter, which was Chapter 40 in Love and Marriage, named Broken Hearts. Frank was leaving for Vietnam after we had been home for a very short while from our assignment in Okinawa The writing of a personal Memoir involves all of your senses.  You are immediately transported back to that moment in time of your life. Emotions run rampant as you write about real life experiences. I knew this,...

My Mr. Christmas

My Mr. Christmas

At Thanksgiving each year, memories flood into my mind of the beautiful man I call, Mr. Christmas. My Mr. Christmas was a special person all year long but from Thanksgiving Day until  New Year’s  Eve Day, he was a shining light in more ways than you can imagine.  Let’s just say that the character Clark, played by Chevy Chase, in Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation could have been cloned from my Mr. Christmas. A love that so...

What Spoke to my Soul and Heart to Inspire Me. As a young child I was very shy but after becoming a teenage most of that shyness went away. In seventh grade, I decided to write a small book consisting of pictures I had drawn with a love story all of which had been drawn and written on notebook paper with staples for a binder.  Of course, I knew nothing about love but I was in love with the “ideal” of love. In Junior High and High School, I tried to keep a Diary but realized fairly quickly, with four brothers in the house, that there would be zero privacy for those written pages....

Going to the Chapel

And We’re Gonna Get Married! I tossed and turned all night, trying to go to sleep, but my restless mind would not stop thinking. The excitement and the anticipation that the next evening of becoming Frank’s wife forever, just would not let my mind rest. Of course, that was interlaced with worrisome thoughts about if Frank was okay.  Knowing those guys all to well who had taken Frank to the beach for a Bachelor Party had me asking myself many questions. Did they let him drown?  Was he tied up to a tree on the courthouse lawn in Bay City? Or worse yet, tied up to that tree in the...
