The Ballerina

Older Ballerina

With delicate movements, she waltzes across the floor,

lost in another new world with a closed door.

Once upon a time, she knew many, many other things,

But now she slowly dances as her arms gracefully swing.

When you say hello, her smile touches your heart,

Then a peacefulness surrounds you and you wish her never to part.

I’ve been told that at one time she was brilliant with numbers,

but now those digits are forgotten by her and put into slumbers.

She is a ballerina lost in a world of her own,

where she will remain until reaching God’s  home.
