The Park Bench

The Park Bench

What a drab day, Elsa thought to herself as she stood at her office window. Elsa prayed the rain would stop and the skies would clear by lunchtime. The park was her refuge while eating her lunch. Elsa had a favorite bench where she sat, ate her lunch, and watched people walking by while she contemplated her past and hopes for the future. When the train stopped at the right place, Sam got off.  He had made this trip so many times in the past that he could probably do it in his sleep. As Sam made it through the rain to his office, he wondered if later in the day the rain would stop and...

Mr. Kitty Kat

Nothing was extraordinary about that day.  It was just another hot, dry summer day in late May. Deep in my thoughts, I walked out of the front door of my home.  The detached garage had been converted into a game room many years back. I have typed all of my blogs and books in this room. As I approached the front door to the game room, a cat came running from the left side of the building.  The stray feline was loudly crying as it ran closer towards me. Today, on...

Writing a True Love Memoir

When you are writing a Memoir about a true love shared with your soulmate, it can be the most beautiful experience but it can be heartbreaking at times. Frank and I married at age eighteen.  We were married for nearly twenty-nine years when suddenly he was struck ill and died within six days of that illness at the age of forty-seven. While writing our love story and remembering the fun times we had together, I enter into a time machine going back to that period.   Actually, I see us together as if a spectator.  Actually, the best way I can describe this would be to compare it to the same...

I Want to be Reminded of Lilacs

Why would I want to be reminded of Lilacs? What do they symbolize, and do their colors have special meanings? I did not know a lot about these beautiful flowers and what they symbolize until a friend commented on a blog I wrote named,  My Soulmate Love for Eternity. In this blog, I spoke of the beauty of having a soulmate, a real deep, pure love. A love where we became so close to one another that we had grown like one strand of tightly woven yarn, having one heart and soul.  A love that has transcended through all time, all dimensions, and shared for eternity. A love that so connected that...
