Talented, Beautiful, Successful

I believe God put a lot of thought into creating each of us while making us all unique, special and different. Also, I think that He gave us all a special purpose that is designed just for us to fulfill while we are living in the flesh. It is easy to look around and want to be that somebody else who we might think is more talented, more beautiful, or more successful. When we see the talents of others and compare them to our own, is it a fair comparison?  I remember as a young woman thinking how others around me seemed so much more talented in various ways than I was but some of them did not...

Prayer, Purpose, Faith and the Widow

For as far back as I can remember, God has made His presence known to me.  As a tiny child, I remember talking to Him and feeling the warmth of His touch. My true heartfelt belief is that we are all born into this world, remembering God because we have just come from His loving arms uninhibited, innocent, and still feel His lingering, loving, and protective care which stays with us.  Small children are not worried about what others think, which enables them to speak openly about God. Ask God to make sure He supplies your...

A Message in a Letter

Frank’s next letter has a beautiful message and it is very special to me. That night Frank came to me in a dream and told me, “Nancy, look in the cedar chest”. For some reason, I immediately woke up.  Lying there in the darkness, I tried to figure out what Frank’s words had meant.  I have a cedar chest in my house but know everything that is inside...

Slipping & Sliding

Frank, Scotty, and I fell into a more normal routine. It was good only to have yard maintenance work to do for awhile Although everything but the toilets got taken off of the sewer system, we figured the yard would always stay pretty and green because of the washing machine, sinks, and shower water running through a pipe that had a long flexible hose on the end of it. Also, the trailer house had a brand new dishwasher, but with the sewer situation, I never got to use it. You know what? I never really minded it.  Washing dishes has never been a burden to me, and I still do not have a...
