Fiction, Non-fiction, & A Memoir

For some strange reason, as I tried to sleep last night, my mind decided to think about the difference between the writing of Fiction, Non-Fiction, or a Memoir.  I have no idea why my brain decided to think about that, but half the time, I am not in control of what my mind thinks about or when it works. What is the writing of Fiction? Is it just made up by the crafty brilliant minds of authors, or is it real life experiences hidden in the embellishment of fiction to hide the truth and protect the original characters. Many writers have said that all Fiction has some truth in it. Other writers...

Humbled & Thankful

Today is Wednesday, May 8th, 2019. Fifty-one years ago on Wednesday on May 8th, 1968 a young man and a young woman stood at the front of the church confessing their love for each other and exchanging their marriage vowels in front of their families, friends, and God. That day in Van Vleck, Texas at the Methodist Church  Nancy Blakley and Frank Henderson became Mr. & Mrs. Loren Frank Henderson, Jr. As you all know, I am in the process of writing a Memoir of Frank and my love story.  Two books have been published and are available as autographed books to purchase on this website. Today, on...

Where’d My Menu Go?

Well now, it has been a while since the Widow let you know what she has been up to, but you can believe that it has all been days of learning how not to do things. Nancy Lou has been reading and editing, War & Commitment:  The Love Story of Nancy & Frank: Book II, but while doing that, she has been writing new chapters on this website of the fourth book of the Memoir. This widow-woman does not use a wireless mouse to move the pointer arrow around the screen.  Instead, Nancy Lou uses her pointer finger to scroll around on the computer dumafloche below the keys on the keyboard. ...

A Priceless Letter

When I checked the mail on Monday, March 25, 2019, I had received an extraordinary piece of mail.  After opening the envelope and reading a message written in cursive writing inside the card, it moved me to tears. Many years ago, probably sixty-one years to be exact, I attended elementary school in Levelland, Texas. My second-grade teacher’s name was Mrs. Chaffin.  Of course, I had not thought about second-grade for many years. A few weeks back my Mom called me to tell me that she needed some more of my books.  She informed me that Mrs. Chaffin had seen my book lying on a table in the...
