Nails and Brakes
When I got up that morning with a stopped up head, allergies. After drinking several cups of coffee, I did the treadmill then made a grocery list while waiting for the Great Granddaughter to arrive.
When she arrived I found out from my Oldest Grandson, Matt, that my next to youngest Grandson, Mav, had broken his wrist while playing soccer the night before but he told me not to worry. Right!
Baby girl and I loaded into the car to go to the grocery store. While backing out I noticed the low tire warning light on, so I got out and checked the tires. They all looked good to me but I decided to stop at Sweeny Tire to have them checked.
Evidently, everyone in town was there because the parking lot was full, so I turned around went back to my house and decided to check the tires again. The right rear tire looked low, so I got my trusty air thangy out which my son had bought for me and started putting air in the tire. I was checking the tread on the tire and noticed a large-headed nail stuck in the tire! Of course, it was a nail!
So, decided to drive by Sweeny Tire and check out the parking lot again, which was still full then just decided to make a quick grocery run. We got the groceries then headed home. I quickly unloaded the groceries then baby-girl and I drove to Sonic, got her some food and went back to Sweeny Tire.
Bingo!
The parking lot was only half full. While waiting for them to fix the tire, baby girl and I went into the office where I fed her lunch.
They put my Expedition up on the rack so they could check out all of the tires for other foreign items. Quickly the mechanic came in and told me I had a brake problem on the front driver’s side wheel. The brake would not release so they could turn the wheel. Geez!
I have a full extended warranty on my vehicle because it is a 2007 model with only 65,000 miles on it which gave me the option to have another factory extended warranty. Glad I did that.
The mechanic told me not to drive too far are the wheel could catch on fire. Since my home is only eight blocks away, I drove it home. Finally, baby girl and I were home, then after a few calls, while chasing baby-girl around the house who was taking every opportunity to get into everything while I was on the phone, a wrecker was on the way to take my vehicle to Ford dealership in Angleton!
What an interesting day and I was still smiling.
